This year, pride week was newly introduced and seemed to be bigger, better and more
significant than ever. Backed by the KGV sports department, the KGVGSA members
old rainbow laces to spread awareness about homosexuality, themed after the
LGBTQIA+ flag. These shoelaces seemed to have been successful as they were
completely sold out within a week of their release. The laces were sold at $20
for one pair and $50 for three pairs. Students were seen not only wearing the
laces on their shoes, but also as headbands and hair ties. The annual pride week at
KGV has allowed the KGVGSA to advocate on issues and problems the LGBTQ
community faces while showing their support to the community through donations
and guest speakers.
